Appointed by hospitality specialists

Following the appointment by our specialist client we commenced the Interior Designs within the Grade B Listed – Bar Ora, Rocca Ristorante in Hamilton. Tasked to design ‘Instagram-able’ interiors we were commissioned to design the interior of the new bar and create an external terrace serving both the new venue and the existing well established restaurant, Rocca Ristorante.

Restoring a listed building

The client commissioned Oliver (Head of Block Interiors) to craft a modern and stylish space that would elevate the visitor experience within the new bar. The project involved the complete strip out of the existing retail unit followed by a complete fit-out of the new bar, including associated toilets and the creation of a new terrace space to accommodate patrons for both venues. The newly split terrace provides customers with a suitable and adjacent pre- and post-meal venue, allowing them to extend their evening in a less formal setting.

Working in collaboration to bring the vision to life

Working collaboratively with BSD Associates and the client, Oliver (Head of Block Interiors) ensured the client’s vision and design objectives were met. Oliver’s responsibilities included overseeing the overall interior design of the project, from concept to on-site execution, and co-ordination with the design team. This involved incorporating a thoughtful process of material selection to create an elegant and charming space. Refurbishing Bar Ora undoubtedly contributes significantly to the street elevation, especially considering its location surrounded by many listed sandstone buildings. This renovation not only enhances the visual appeal of the area but also plays a crucial role in preserving the historical character and charm of the street. The refurbishment project effectively revitalizes the ambiance of the entire street, whilst offering a rich experience for locals and visitors alike.
