Case Study – Lucky B’s, UK-wide Franchise
Working with the UK’s latest Quick Service restaurant brands
The Clients
Having worked closely with our Clients’ on their flagship brands – Andiamo, Lucali, Catch and Toni’s Pizzeria for many years, we are delighted to help them with the design and development of their second UK unit for the UK’s latest quick service restaurant brand – Lucky B’s Hot Chicken.
The Brief
We were tasked with gaining local authority planning permission for a change of use, building warrant and interior design of the public space. Our client had already built a strong brand from the first Lucky B’s unit in Giffnock, with a large social media following. The new Lucky B’s in Glasgow, had to not only include elements from their existing premises but also show design development and intent for future franchise units. Our design proposals had to be bold to reflect their brand, with a strong use of colour, architectural metalwork, feature lighting, and neon signage all of which complemented the graffiti artwork. Identifying finishes that could be easily replicated in future franchise units became increasingly important.
Our Solutions
Our close working relationship with the client, Catering Projects on the kitchen, back of house areas, and all site trades, was crucial to creating a successful site. The brand’s new Hospitality Director and Advisor was brought on board, using his experience in QSR franchising, to help drive the operational side of the business and to get the project over the line. The hard work resulted in creating a Lucky B’s site that enhances the existing brand, attracts new customers, and gives the new franchisee a unit to be proud of.
The launch party was a huge success with the Lucky B’s team organising fire eaters, DJ’s and entertainment that was viewed by over 1m+ on social media.
We look forward to working on design proposals for new franchise units as the Lucky B’s team look to expand across the UK.
QSR or quick service restaurants like Lucky B’s, have a market value in the UK of around £23 billion. This reflects the significant contribution of QSR chains to the UK economy and highlights the industry’s importance in the country’s foodservice sector.
