Appointed by developers
Following the appointment by our developer client, works have commenced on the conversion, conservation and refurbishment of the 4-storey Grade B listed building at 45-51 King Street, in the historic heart of Stirling.
Restoring a listed building
The building had been vacant for several years and was at one point earmarked to become a bar/restaurant. Working alongside an experienced design team, we collectively unraveled years of unregulated alterations to the building including recent mechanical and electrical upgrades.
Bringing the vision of the property developers to life.
Block Architects were appointed by the developers to deliver a scheme for the sensitive yet distinct conversion of the former office building to include a luxurious 15 room bespoke aparthotel and 11 high-end individual offices, complete with breakout spaces for co-working and a hot-desk hub. The proposals also included for a state-of-the-art podcast studio available for flexible rent, as well as a modest gym with shower facilities for exclusive guest and staff use.
Two Listed Building Consent approvals and a Full Planning Permission approval were obtained by Block Architects last year, with the discharging of pre-commencement conditions having also been signed off, and Building Warrant being approved this month.
Working in collaboration
Interior designers IBDP, in collaboration with 3D visualization studio Abstract Canvas, were responsible for the overall interior design of the project, and the delivery of the design intent to meet with the client’s vision for both the office spaces and aparthotel rooms.
Within walking distance of Stirling Castle, the conversion, restoration, and refurbishment of this historic building brings much-needed premier office space and serviced accommodation to the city centre.
